Art Decor Meets Vintage

A jewelry designer who I have been following for a while now is Lisa Salzer, founder of Lulus Frost. Looking at her pieces, you would realized that some of them resembles the Art Deco period with a blend of vintage elements. Bold colors, geometric shapes- all of which are characteristics of Art Decor jewelry. Every piece of her designs always catches my attention and leave me starring at it for a long time. In case you're still wondering who she is and what her style is, here is a video about her:

I have also picked out a few pieces that I think would be perfect for this summer:
"100 Year Earring". Features aqua vintage earring elements as a centerpiece, atop with black and red 1930s celluloid belt buckle, a 1920s maroon Bakelite buckle.
"50 Year Necklace". Features a 1930s dress clip with green glass stones surrounded by 1940s belt buckles with clear and aqua glass stones. I think this would look perfect with a low v-neck dress.
"Vintage Brooch". A 1930s vintage brooch with blue glass stones and brass. I appreciate that the combination of gold and sparkly light baby blue gives off a refreshing vibe.

Which one is your favorite?

XOXO,
Tina

Jewelry Cleaner

I came across this Kickstarter Jewelry Cleaner invented by Robyn Hawk and was so amazed by the idea of it. Jewelry hygiene did crossed my mind a few times but after seeing his video it made me contemplate about how many people actually clean their jewelry. His invention is really simple to use, all you have to do is put his creation into your dishwasher and let it do its job. According to Mr. Hawk, all is needed is steam, hot water and soup. Before we take a look at his invention, below are a few points I think is important to remember.

Here are a few points to keep in mind:
- Washing your hands does not eliminate the bacteria from your jewelry.
- Don't shower or wash your hands with your jewelry on. If you wish to keep your jewelry on, make sure to dry the skin under your rings.
- Clean earring post with rubbing alcohol at least once a week. (I do all the time because if you don't you will realize that your earrings start smelling bad)

Now that you've remembered these few points (hopefully), you can check out this amazing creation by Robyn Hawk.

Natalie Portman & Harry Winston

Where do one go to look for jewelry inspiration? My first stop was to look through the jewelry worn on celebrities during the Oscars. Came across this beautiful necklace designed by Harry Winston on Natalie Portman during the 2013 Oscar. I love how the necklace rests so effortlessly on her neck, reminding me of a waterfall.
